Expectations are being set for the VP debate.
Will they be as wrong as those pre debate expectations set for the first presidential debate?
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus tried on Sunday to raise the bar for Vice President Joe Biden's debate against Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.
"I think most people understand that Joe Biden has been debating for a long time -- since the early 1900s he's been debating," Priebus said on CNN's "State of the Union."
Asked by host Candy Crowley about a CNN/ORC poll showing that 55 percent of voters thought Ryan would win the vice presidential debate Thursday night, Priebus said that polling reflected Biden's tendency to speak off the cuff.
"Biden as of late put his foot in his mouth in very public ways," Priebus said, arguing the polling reflected those gaffes. "He said some things that were problematic."
"I think that Paul is going to do a great job," Priebus said. "But I also think it's very important for people to understand and i think people realize that Joe Biden is a gifted orator. He's very good at rhetoric. And I think he's very relatable."
No matter the predictions, I think the debate will be entertaining as well as informative.
I am looking forward to the debate.
