Most clowns use make up to give the appearance of maintaining a silly grin at all times, but the Vice President was able to accomplish this feat sans makeup.

And while the vice president’s silly grin would likely scare more children than it entertained he at least seemed happy to be at the debate.

The vice president should capitalize on the moment and begin using Steven Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns” as background music when he comes on stage for a political event or to the microphone for an interview.

And we can expect to see many people in costumes at conservative Halloween parties as Joe the Clown.
