In recent weeks there have been a couple of articles that posed questions on the quality of or the lack of leadership in Washington, D.C. from the White House and the Capitol.
I received the following comparison in an email this morning (original author unknown).

Depends on Authority Depends on Goodwill
Inspires Fear Generates enthusiasm
Says “I” Says “We”
Places blame for breakdown Fixes the breakdown
Knows how it is done Shows hot it is done
Uses people Develops people
Takes credit Gives credit
Says “Go” Says “Let’s Go”
As we look at the shenanigans and tomfoolery in the White House and the Congress that we forced to endure in lieu of public service from our elected leaders, it is amazing how well this list of actions and attributes can be used to define bosses and leaders.
It is time for more leadership and less professional politics
